Task management

Daily tasks for the people on shift.

Know what's getting done.

Supervisors give the day's work to named people on shift, at the site they checked in to. What is done, pending or needs attention sits next to the day's attendance, so nobody has to ask for a report.

Product views use demonstration data. Sites and people are fictional.
  1. 01Assign

Work given to a person, not to a group chat.

Each task has the people on shift doing it, a start and due date, a priority and a section such as Cleaning or Maintenance. Status moves from not started to completed in one place, so everyone reads the same answer.

    • Assigned to named people
    • Due dates, priority and sections
    • Status from not started to completed
  2. 02Hand over

A handover is an offer until it's accepted.

When work is handed to someone else, it waits for their answer. They accept it or refuse it, so nobody finds out at the end of the shift that a task was never picked up.

    • Handed to a named person
    • Accepted or refused, not assumed
    • "Needs your answer" until they reply
  3. 03Work through it

Done step by step, where the work happens.

Bigger tasks break into subtasks, each with its own person, ticked off as it is finished. Notes stay on the task as comments, and work that has to stop is paused and resumed rather than lost.

    • Subtasks for each person
    • Comments on the task, not in messages
    • Pause and resume work
  4. 04Supervise and close

What needs attention, across every site.

Supervisors see the tasks that are off plan, paused or overdue at each site, alongside the day's attendance. When work is finished they close the task, and reopen it if something comes back.

    • Off plan, paused and overdue in view
    • Across sites and teams
    • Closed by supervisors, reopened if needed
