    Filled from the punches.

    Every clock-in and clock-out lands on the employee's timesheet with its time and source. A break in the middle of a shift is two punch pairs, and the worked hours add up both.

  2. 02Overtime

    Overtime from the rule, not a spreadsheet.

    Each shift carries its overtime rule. Hours above it are counted as overtime day by day, so the week's total is ready when the timesheet is.

    Only the records that need a look.

    Late arrivals, missing clock-outs and absences without a leave request are flagged with a severity. Switch to exceptions only, and a missing punch becomes a correction request rather than a phone call.
